Payroll is an area of his business that Adam Powell simply doesn’t want to think about. So he doesn’t.
Adam is a director at Mayday Mortgages, a specialist mortgage broker dealing predominantly with clients that are having difficulty securing a mortgage. The firm have been established for 7 years and are based in Swindon. In 2003 they were referred to the Fish Partnership by their existing accountant who was retiring.
Adam feels that he instantly warmed to Paul at the Fish Partnership because he didn’t seem to be talking from behind pound signs in his eyes, but was genuinely concerned about restructuring the firm’s finances. Now, four years later, the Fish Partnership provides business and accounting advice for Mayday, and also takes care entirely of their payroll, through FishPay.
“It’s hassle-free”, explains Adam. “It’s an area of the business I don’t want to get involved with and now I don’t have to.” Mayday completely outsource their payroll of thirteen monthly paid employees to FishPay, which generates payslips, P60’s and P45’s, deals with bank transfers and ensures all employee financial matters are taken care of. “I’m so far removed from it now. I get complete peace of mind because I know it’s being done.”
“It’s not always that you can put your hand on your heart and say ‘these guys are genuinely good’” says Adam. “For me it boils down to the personal service I receive. I know I can get hold of them at any time and they will take care of what I need them to.”
