The FishPay payroll service from Fish Partnership has significantly lightened the administrative load of R Stow Builders Limited.

The firm are situated just outside Wallingford, Oxfordshire, and have been established for twenty years.  They provide all manner of building services to the general public, including extension and renovation work.

Company Secretary Maggie Stow was first pointed in the direction of Fish Partnership 7 years ago, by the firm’s existing accountant, who was retiring.  Maggie and her husband Richard had an initial meeting with Paul Laird, and were very impressed with his attitude towards their finances.  Maggie decided to opt into the FishPay service twelve months later, after reading about it in one of the Fish Partnership’s newsletter.

“We have 8 employees in total,” says Maggie, “but we also use sub-contractors.  I was responsible for the entire payroll.  By outsourcing the employee payroll to FishPay, they have effectively taken two-thirds of my workload in that department.”

R Stow Builders Limited has 7 of their 8 employees paid weekly through FishPay, and one paid monthly.  FishPay also advises on an ad hoc basis, whenever there is a query.  Maggie believes that the FishPay service is efficient, personal and good value for money.

“They’ve removed the worry surrounding deduction of the right tax or NI contributions.  No-one wants the Revenue on their backs, or to have to keep up with them.  I don’t have to read through any of the blurb now, or try to keep up with the ever-changing legislation.”
